Is a “No known red flags” result a guarantee?

No. It means none of our checks matched. New scam sites appear every hour. If something feels wrong, do not continue.

Do you read my SMS or WhatsApp?

Only if you share a message with the app, or turn on Auto-protect, which checks incoming notifications on your phone. Message text never leaves your device.

What is sent to your servers?

Only links, and only when Cloud check is on in the app (always for this website's checker). We store the domain, a one-way hash of the link and the result for 30 days.

Can ScamGuard remove malware automatically?

No Android app can silently remove another app. ScamGuard alerts you and opens the system uninstall screen so you can confirm.

Why does the app ask for notification access?

Auto-protect is optional. With it, ScamGuard can warn you about a scam message the moment it arrives. You can turn it off any time in Android settings.

How do I report a wrong result?

Tap “Wrong result?” on any result in the app. Our team reviews every report.
